The Sift Minecraft Guide: Official Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 28, 2026 · Last Updated: September 29, 2026

1. Introduction & Overview

Welcome to The Sift Guide ("we", "our", or "thesiftguide.com"). We are dedicated to respecting and protecting the privacy of visitors who browse our website. This Privacy Policy details the types of personal data and usage information collected, how it is processed and safeguarded, and your statutory rights under relevant global privacy regulations, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).

By using or navigating The Sift Guide, you acknowledge and agree to the practices outlined in this policy. If you do not agree with any aspect of this policy, please discontinue use of our site.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to operate efficiently, ensure cyber security, and understand how our audience interacts with our guides and calculators. We collect information in the following manners:

Log Files

Like virtually all web servers, our Cloudflare edge infrastructure records basic technical log entries when you request pages. These logs may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser brand and version, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamps, referring/exit pages, and the number of clicks. These logs do not contain directly personally identifiable names or residential addresses.

Voluntary Inquiries

If you contact our editorial desk via email (contact@thesiftguide.com), we receive your sender email address and any text content or attachments you provide in your message. We use this strictly to respond to your specific question or tip.

3. Cookies and Web Beacons

The Sift Guide uses standard web cookies to store visitor preferences, record user-specific information on which pages the user accesses, and customize web page content based on browser types.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling all cookies may prevent certain interactive tools (such as retaining coordinate calculator values in local cache) from functioning optimally.

4. Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We utilize Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-X1ZTW8XWPG), a web analytics service offered by Google LLC ("Google"). Google Analytics tracks website traffic, aggregated visitor demographics, average time spent per guide, and technical device characteristics.

Google Analytics 4 is configured with default IP anonymization. Google does not log or store individual IP addresses in GA4 reporting. The aggregated insights help our team determine which dimension biomes and portal guides need deeper explanations.

To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google at: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5. Third-Party Advertising Partners

Third-party ad servers or ad networks—including Google AdSense and Adsterra—serve advertisements that appear on The Sift Guide. These advertising providers automatically receive your IP address when ad creatives render in your web browser.

  • DoubleClick DART Cookies: Google uses DART cookies to serve contextual and interest-based ads to visitors based on visits to this site and other websites across the Internet.
  • Adsterra Network Cookies: Adsterra uses secure web beacons and device identifiers to optimize ad delivery, measure conversion events, and prevent click fraud.
  • Opt-Out Options: Visitors may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page (optout.networkadvertising.org).

The Sift Guide has no direct access to or control over cookies that are used by third-party advertisers once an ad creative has loaded.

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific statutory rights regarding their personal information:

  • The right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal data collected about you.
  • The right to request the deletion of any personal data collected from you.
  • The right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your consumer privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information for monetary compensation. If you wish to submit a CCPA request, contact us at privacy@thesiftguide.com. We will verify and process your request within 45 days.

7. GDPR Data Protection Rights (EEA & UK)

If you reside within the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you are entitled to the following legal protections under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Right of Access & Portability

You may request copies of personal data we retain regarding your inquiries.

Right to Rectification

You may request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.

Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")

You may request the deletion of your personal contact records.

Right to Restrict or Object to Processing

You may object to our continued processing of your data under certain conditions.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Protecting children while they explore the internet is of paramount importance to us. The Sift Guide is designed for general Minecraft audiences of all ages, but does not knowingly or intentionally solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

If you believe your child has inadvertently provided personal information to our site via an email communication, please notify us immediately at privacy@thesiftguide.com, and we will promptly remove such records from our systems.

9. Updates to This Policy & Contact Information

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our data practices, new advertising networks, or evolving legal frameworks. Any changes will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp at the top.
